I did mean to post earlier, honest. Time has just run away from me today! I was also going to tidy up the dining room table before I went to bed too but that doesn't look like it's going to happen either...
So, if the image in this card was a girl it's what I would be doing now as Andy is watching the golf. It's the Ryder Cup apparently and is also, allegedly, very exciting..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
This is a card I made for Andy's mate for his birthday. Unfortunately despite all the elements of it being ready, it didn't get stuck together until past his birthday so in the inside I had to stamp a belated birthday sentiment! What a numpty.
Happy Friday to you. It's time for a new challenge over at the Totally Papercrafts Towers and this week it's the turn of our lovely Kim to choose the theme and she's gone for.....
Kim loves her pastels which you'll see if you pop by her blog.... however, me.... not so much. However, I am really quite chuffed with the card and I have proved to myself (and Cathy) that I really can do WOW cards.
We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Lili of the Valley and the winner will receive 2 stamps of their choice. How fab is that?
And so this is my card.... I'm afraid she had a little accident with her shoes. Well, she didn't, I had the accident but as we crafters know there is no such thing as an accident merely a design feature....
I've used Dandelion Clock for my card and coloured her in pale yellow.
So I'm hoping with this card that I have met my challenge that Cathy set me (and that she'll not think of another)
Stamps Dandelion Clock, Lili of the Valley coloured with Promarkers and Copics Cardstock Diamond White, The Papeterie Embellishments Ribbon and gems from stash Tools Circle and Picot Circle Nesties, Cuttlebug Remember to pop by the Totally Papercrafts blog to see the rest of the pastel inspiration my fellow teamies have left you and then, if you've time, visit them and leave them some bloggy love too. Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy your Friday! Hugs.
So much for Sunny September. Typically the weather went back to winter today given that the schools were on holiday!
We kept them amused though, we went swimming this morning then for lunch and then went to see Brave this afternoon so we've had a full day. I had been hoping to get some crafting done but that hasn't materialised. Yet. I should really do some school uniform ironing for tomorrow.
On to today's offering. I was asked to make a guest book for a friend's uncle who was retiring from the Fire Service after 30 years. I went for a very simple design. Wasn't sure the recipient would appreciate lots of embellies!
The inner pages are just a simple cream with a strip of patterned paper down the side of them. I also included a page where he could add a photo later if he wanted.
The party was on Friday so I'm hoping that the guest book went down well.
Well, not quite but it is warmer than I was expecting! And most unusual for a school holiday.....
The boys and I were out this morning for our annual Dedication of the Uniformed Organisations service at church and then went straight (well, almost straight) from that to rugby with Scott and then we went straight from there to the shops. So I think a wee sit down now is called for!
Andy text me the other day from work as someone in his work had asked him if I'd be able to make an anniversary card for Thursday for her husband. I had seen this gorgeous Tiddly Inks image and lots of beautiful cards made with it over on the Tiddly Inks Facebook group so decided that I would *have* to get it... I'm sure there's other images I could have gone for but I liked this one :)
The first photo isn't the best. I finished making the card late Wednesday night so I took the photo early on Thursday morning before Andy took it to work. I love it though, I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Morning all. It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this week our theme is
Yes we'd like to see you use some charms on your card!
Typically I haven't gone down the girly route... you're not really surprised are you? No, didn't think so. I was looking through my charms (and to be honest, I don't have that many *adds to shopping list*) and found this skull and crossbones so I decided to go with a piratey theme. I even did a spot of tearing *gasps* and I told Cathy I was no good at it ;)
We are sponsored this week by Emerald Faeries who are giving the lucky winner 2 digis from their store and the lovely Joanna Sheen is our monthly sponsor giving the monthly winner £10 to spend in her store.
Morning all. It's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts and this week it's my turn to host the challenge and I've chosen a nice easy theme this week.....
I'd like to see all your cards that are...
For A Child
Doesn't matter if it's a birth-day or a birthday as long as the recipient is a child I don't mind what it is.
We're sponsored this week by the fabulous Meljen's who are offering 4 digis of the winners choice to the winner.
Here is my card for today's challenge. This is a card I made last week for a friend whose friend had just had a baby, and it's another one of these cards that I giggled the whole way through making. I just love this little image from Ladybug Crafts. He's just fab :)

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy your Friday. The boys are off school this weekend for a long weekend as it's a Glasgow holiday so hoping the weather will improve so we can actually get out! Failing that I guess there is always baking or crafting (neither of which I'm sure appeal to the boys!!)
Remember to pop by the Totally Papercrafts blog and see the rest of the "childish" inspiration my fellow teamies have left for you.
What a weekend! Spent Saturday afternoon baking. With "help".... yeah, you get the picture don't you?!
And why did I spend the afternoon baking?! Well, yesterday was the Cartha Kids Rugby Festival so our cake stall needed filling. Craig would have had me keep going but I ran out of butter and, if I'm honest, energy! (and Strictly was on on Saturday evening)
This is a photo of Scott (Usain) that Craig took and I only discovered it on my phone this morning but what a great photo it is!
And this is our cake stall. Complete with the bunting that I made in the Cartha colours. The photo was taken by Gillian of Jan and Carol on the stall setting up as I was on duty at communion yesterday morning. This was also before the stall (bunting and us) got a bit battered by the elements.
I had fully intended to come back later on yesterday and share Andy's birthday card with you but I was out last night at a local country park with the Anchor Boys. The boys had a fabulous time despite the rain and everyone of them caught something interesting.
Scott and I didn't get back in until just before 9. I had my dinner and sat and watched this man win the US Open. Yes, I stupidly stayed up to watch the whole thing. And there were points during the match when I wished I hadn't but the 5th set was just tremendous and to watch him blow Djokovic away was just thrilling. I am so glad I did stayed up! (even if I am just a little bit slower than normal today) I was at one point keeping friends informed of the score but I think the last one fell asleep just after 1 and there was still a long way to go after that.
So this is the birthday card I made for Andy the other day. Bit of a change from the anniversary image I used! This doesn't look like me either though ;) you can get her from Redonkulous Designs. Isn't she just fab. Now if only I hadn't used her for a birthday card I could have done his Christmas card with this. Think he would notice the same image twice ;)
This is a sticky post - please scroll down for newer posts.
Well, not my birthday. It'll be Andy's birthday on 9th September and in honour of that and the fact that there are now over 100 of you on this crazy blog ride with me I thought I'd offer you some candy.
I've thought about this long and hard and decided to go with your choice of a couple of digis from Saturated Canary.
The candy is open to followers only and will close at 10pm on Sunday 9th September.
Mr Linky should be attached to this post for you to leave your name and the winner will be chosen at random after the closing date.
Morning all, it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' today and our theme this week is White on White We are sponsored this week by our usual monthly sponsor of Joanna Sheen who are offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner, our weekly sponsor is Letraset who are offering a pack of pens to the winner and.... this week our very own gorgeous Natali is offering a prize from her shop! I have had a real struggle with this week's challenge. I think my problem is that I decided before I started that I couldn't do WoW cards. Well, certainly not as well as my lovely friends Ali and Cathy. So I'm not feeling the love for this card to be honest! The Sweeties have assured me though that the card is fine!!
Inkadinkadoo Paper Vellum Paper (wrapped round card) from stash Embellishments Gems from stash Tools Cheery Lynn Holly Flourish, Cuttlebug Remember to pop by Sweet Stampin' to see what the rest of the Sweeties have been up to! Thanks for dropping by today.
Morning all. Time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts and this week our hostess is the lovely Carol who has chosen for our theme Butterflies, Buttons and Bows Easy? Maybe... Well not for someone who isn't that keen on butterflies as embellishments it's not... So this is what I've gone for. I've taken the easy option and used an image with butterflies ;)
We're sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp who are offering $25 to spend in their store!
Stamps Butterfly Girl, Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers and Copics Sentiment, Stampin Up Cardstock/Paper From Stash Embellishments Ribbon from stash Doilies from stash, inked with Antique Linen DI Tools Label Nesties, Fancy Label Nesties, MFT Button Die, Cuttlebug Thanks for dropping by today. Remember to drop by the Totally Papercrafts Blog and leave the rest of my teamies some love. Enjoy your Friday whatever you're doing. I've got a busy one ahead of me! Hugs.
You know how I said it was here.... well, I've changed my mind. We're back to the rubbish weather!
Goodness me, what a busy day yesterday was.... Went swimming in the morning with Cass, then we went for a spot of lunch and then we went to the craft shop for a spot of shopping all of which was very successful!
Then last night Anchor Boys started back after the summer break so Scott and I were out at that and then Andy dropped Craig off for his first night at Company Section. I think Craig had been a wee bit nervous before he went but by the time he got home he was full of enthusiasm and had had a great time - although by the time Craig came home I was in my pj's and went to bed after I had heard how he got on as I was very tired!!!
Yesterday was also Sandra's wee boys birthday. He was 7 and this is the card I made for him. Not sure whether Sam liked it but his mum did!
It's that time on a Tuesday when it's time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges. This fortnight our challenge is.....
All About The Boys
Woohoo! What could be better :) You know how much I like boy colours and cards.
We're sponsored this fortnight by Stampin Dragon.
And here is my card. Well, it was just going to be one card but today there's a BOGOF on boy cards as I made this card for Craig on Thursday night for the challenge because he was doing the Junior Great Scottish Run on Saturday and then of course both boys were Stars of the Week at school so I thought that perhaps I should do one for Scott too. Which is ever so slightly different lol!
Remember to pop by Creative Craft Challenges to see the rest of the Boy themed inspiration the DT have left for you. Also while you're there we have a DT Call as 3 of our ladies are moving on. So if you feel you are able to join our happy wee team then all you have to do is enter our current challenge and put DT after your name in your entry. Couldn't be simpler. What are you waiting for? You have to be in to win.
I fear it's unlikely but you just never know... it's a lovely day here today. And I have so much to do but not a scrap of motivation to do any of it - apart from possibly the card making but even then.... ;)
So on to today's card. Last week I was asked for a birthday card for sister which had a girl with big boobs and black hair.... for the next day! Thankfully Kenny K's image came to my rescue.
I have no idea whether the sister in question liked it but the customer was happy :) (and has been warned not to to that to me again!!)
When I picked the boys up from After School care yesterday I noticed from the board that Scott had been awarded Star of the Week in his class so I was very pleased. I then walked round to get the boys and was met by both boys running towards me (an unusual occurrence!) shouting that they had both been awarded Star of the Week for their respective classes. Even better.
And today Craig took part in the Junior Great Scottish Run. This is his second year of doing it and improved his time from last year so he's quite chuffed with himself now.
And look who we ran into today before the run.
I have heard that a certain young lady is upset that Craig met Mandeville, sorry Beth!! And Craig isn't that popular with his brother for meeting Mandeville either!!
